Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

May 12, 2021 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month is a celebration of the rich culture, contributions, and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans in the United States. This month of celebration originated from Jeanie Jew who brought forth the idea to a congressional representative in the 1970s. Since the first documented arrival of Filipinos in California in 1587, Asian Americans have helped build and shape what the western world is today.
